AT&T modifies iPhone upgrade policy

AT&T said today it is modifying its upgrade policy for the new iPhone after existing customers of the popular smartphone took to Twitter to protest a minimum $200 difference they would have to pay if they wanted the new model, the 3GS, due out Friday. Existing AT&T customers who are in mid-contract and want to upgrade their iPhones to the new model  may have to pay $200 more than the $199 and $299 prices for new customers, and some of them have taken to Twitter to protest the price difference.
